Blogging?

Our topic today is how we feel about blogging for this game. I personally love to blog, I have a few on another site that I try to blog on regularly.

Blogging helps you express how you are feeling, and creating a game can become very aggrivating. Blogging about what you have done that week lets you get out your frustration with out having to complain to your team members or other class mates, that can just make them aggrivated, then its just a big mess.

I also liked blogging about the topics we covered because could go back and see what I had problems with an what I grapsed on to quicky. I like being able to go back and see how I felt about something after I learned how to do it easily.
Blogging also shows your creativity, something that I believe everyone should express. Everyone has their own personality in their writing and blogging is just another way to show that.

In Preperation for the game

Our game is finally finished and I am SO happy. It took such a long time, but now we have to get our presentation ready. We have about a month left to make it perfect.
For our presentation we are making a power point. So far we have 5 or 6 slides compeltely done; entrance, pictures, video, and animation. The slides are about deciding on what type of game, our paper prototype, deciding on job, planning and our title page. Making this is something that I am good at. I think our presentation will be great. We are taking it slow since we have a month left to make sure we have everything.

This has been a fun expirience, I'm not sure if I would want to go through it all again, but it was enjoyable (at times). I could not have made the game alone I know that for a fact. My team is pretty amazing.

Today's Catastrophes.

It seems like every morning when I wake up and turn on the t.v. there has been another disaster, or some sort of catastrophe. Every day my heart goes out to so many people. Seeing these things happen to so many people really make me appreciate the life I have. The latest tragedy has occured close to home though and has changed my life.

West Virginia Mine Explosion

29 brave men lost their lives last week in a mine explosion, the worst mining accident in 40 years. West Virginia is mining country, everyone living here knows someone who mines or is related to a miner. Every single West Virginian has been affected by this. I have always said since I was little that I cannot wait to get out of WV and move to a big city, but after the past week my mind has changed completly. Never in my life have I seen people come together like West Virginians do. It simply amazes me. It has made me realize how we are pretty much one HUGE family, no other state would come together like that. The twenty-nine families will never be alone, there will always be people around to help them. I know we all wish that this never happened and it is just a horrible dream, but out of that tragedy we have found family, friends, and support for a life time. I may not have known any of the miners personally, but I did know some of their loved ones and they are such strong people, I know they can make it through this. My condolences goes out to all the families.

"You are pulled from the wreckage, of your silent reverie. You're in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort there"

R.I.P you brave, brave souls

I hear ya...

Sound is very important in every game without it your game would be very boring, and in our case it would make our game very boring. The audience we are targeting is high school students and teenagers get bored very easily. If we didn't have sound I seriously doubt we would keep their attention and I'm pretty sure that we need that =]. A game is no different than life, as I am typing this now I hear my fingers hit the keyboard and create a sound. Every move you make you create some sort of noise. Without sound just think about how boring our lives would be; we wouldn't hear music play, birds sing, rain hit your roof or anything, I am certain that I would not want to live in a world like that.

Without sound in your game, people would think they are just wasting their time and find something else to do. Sound makes everything interesting and interesting is what I like.
